This class covers the Advanced Marine Navigation course.

The course will be taught every Thursday night for 9 weeks, as listed on the schedule.  The first 8 sessions are instruction, followed by an overall review and distribution of the exam.  If you cannot make it to one or more of the instruction dates, you should be okay.  This is an in-person class because of the skills sessions involved.  Please plan on attending the review date. The exam is a ‘take home’ exam to be completed in 1-week.  The pace of this course requires extensive reading and practice.

The Piloting course is a prerequisite to this course. You will need the plotter and divider from your Piloting course.  There will be mentors during the course allowing for a more one-on-one educational experience.  This course includes a voluntary on-the-water activity in Galveston Bay (Texas) to learn the practicalities of plotting, establishing a fix and more.
