This class is offered in the Dallas area.

This class covers the Advanced Marine Navigation course, formerly known as Advanced Piloting.

The course will be taught every Sunday afternoon as listed on the schedule.  The sessions are instruction with hands-on skills demonstration, followed by an overall review and distribution of the exam.  If you cannot make it to one or more of the instruction dates, you should be okay.  This is a blended course (in-person and teleconference).  Please plan on attending the review date. The exam is a ‘take home’ exam to be completed in 1-week.  The pace of this course requires extensive reading and practice.

The Piloting course is a prerequisite to this course. You will need the plotter and divider from your Piloting course.  There will be mentors during the course allowing for a more one-on-one educational experience.

Note:  This course will introduce the navigation software OpenCPN.  Please go to the official OpenCPN site and download the free software.  You may download charts, but that exercise is part of the course.
