The Technician class license is the entry-level license of choice for most new ham radio operators. To earn the Technician license requires passing one examination totaling 35 questions on radio theory, regulations and operating practices. This course is usually completed in 2 six-hour sessions. There is a third session for review and taking the FCC examination.
The examination day will be open to currently licensed amateur radio operators who seek to upgrade their license. You must have the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual 4th Edition book in order to complete the course. Only one required per household. This course is limited to 18 students. Once you are registered, study guides will be purchased and delivered. Although the course is free, you must purchase the book and there is a minimal fee charged for the examination.
