Become a Vessel Safety Examiner

Have you ever thought about becoming a Vessel Safety Examiner?  It is easy, it is fun, and it is a service we offer to the recreational boating community.  This is a free course open to all America’s Boating Club members.

This class teaches our Vessel Safety Examiner course.  There is a review of the documentation, a discussion on the process to conduct the safety examination of a vessel, and the mentoring process for new Examiners.  There is a standardized exam, taken online, that is included in the time for the course.  The exam is taken on your laptop, and if you wish, you can take the examination from the comfort of your home and report the results to the Instructors.

This course is taught by the Houston Squadron program chair for Vessel Safety Checks, P/C William Haddock, AP.  There will be two sessions, chose the one that is right for you.  One session will be teleconference only, the other session will be in-person at our Home Port.

If you select teleconference, connection information will be sent to you.  All participants will receive the required and supplemental documentation electronically as a PDF file.  Participants at Home Port will also have use of printed documentation and snacks and beverages provided.
