“Conversations with Chris” – Ordinary Safety

Event Phone: (713) 517-2204

Ordinary Safety with Chris Leavitt

Join Mr. Chris Leavitt, past Commander of the Houston Power Squadron and former Sea Scout Skipper, as he presents Ordinary Safety, not to be confused with extraordinary safety!

Chris will present specifics on the safety equipment required by law for your vessel, including types of equipment used in marine communications, and a demonstration of correct maritime radio telephone communications procedures for calls to another vessel, marinas, bridges, or locks.  In addition, Chris will speak to why and how you should develop a ship’s station bill and how to plan for and practice: man overboard, fire, and abandon ship drills.

Everyone will enjoy this conversation with Chris!   It will be fun – informative – lively – and from an excellent source of knowledge.  This Discussion is Free to everyone.

Please, enter the teleconference early, and
after you announce yourself, mute your audio.

NOTE:  Each registered participant will receive detailed information on how to join the teleconference.

Sea Scout youth participants will be able to work on an Ordinary rank elective (Safety) where you are to prepare for and demonstrate your knowledge and skills.

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
