Geodetic Mark Day

America’s Boating Club Houston promotes the Geodetic Mark Recovery Program in coordination with NOAA’s National Geodetic Survey (NGS) by reporting status of geodetic markers in the Greater Houston-Galveston Metroplex area.

The Squadron will meet in Seabrook (TX) in the parking lot behind the Seabrook Classic Café and Cabo’s Bar.  There will be a short briefing on how the activity is done for our location, the schedule handed out, kits will be distributed, then off to locate geodetic markers!  All information about where and how to locate a marker, then document the effort, will be provided.  After the event we will gather for a late lunch at the Seabrook Classic Café.  If you have any questions about the event, please contact the Houston Squadron program directors for Geodetic Recovery, Adam and Rochelle Salazar (number at the top of the page).

The initial meeting location is at the parking lot behind the café.  The parking is safe and secure and central to our activities.  We will coordinate all our activities from this location.  Please be on time so the groups can depart on-time!  We will all meet back at the parking lot no later than 1:00 PM and then lunch together.

If you are not coming for the geodetic mark event, but just to come for the late lunch, sign up as “Lunch Only”.  This event is ‘kid friendly’ and open to your entire family and friends.  The event is free, and you pay for your lunch (did we mention they have great pies!).  Everyone come have fun with us!
