ACA Kayak Instructor Training

This class covers the requirements for becoming a Kayaking Level 1 Course instructor.  The class takes about 16 hours.  You must be a member of American Canoe Association (ACA) and have successfully completed the Kayaking Level 1 course.  The requirements and logistics will be managed by Chris Leavitt and the instructor.

Day 1   9:00 AM to 5:00 PM …………….. Instruction and on-the-water activities
Day 2   9:00 AM to early afternoon……. Test skills and teaching ability

You will pay a fee to become a member of ACA, and then once you are approved to be an ACA instructor, there is a $25 SEIC – Safety Education Instruction Council fee that all ACA instructors must pay.

You must have completed a Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Boater Safety course and it is strongly recommended that you are current with your First Aid / CPR / AED credentials.

SPECIAL NOTE  This course is currently closed for registration. If there are four (4) or more persons wanting the course, please contact the Squadron Education Officer with your request. Thank you.
