America’s Boating Club is emphasizing electronic charts and chartplotters in navigation courses. The tool they use is OpenCPN, a free chart plotting navigation software that can be used as a planning tool or as a live navigation tool.  This first session will start with an overview of the software and go through a live installation. We will show you how to download and work with different kinds of charts. We will also demonstrate how it functions as a live navigation tool. The second session will focus on advanced topics, including integrating GPS, AIS, and weather data. We’ll also discuss how OpenCPN may be used effectively on your boat.

A recording of the workshop and copies of the presentation will be available after the workshops.
There is no cost for this workshop.
