This class covers the Sail Course.

The Sail course will be taught every night on the listed schedule.  The first 8 dates are instruction, followed by an overall review and the exam.  If you cannot make it to one or more of the instruction dates, you should be okay.  Please plan on attending the examination in-person, as the exam is proctored. If you are located outside of the Greater Houston area, there is a method to deliver the exam online.

Books for the course can be ordered from the USPS Headquarters.  Call 888‑367‑8777 x221 or x212 to place an order, reference 01-66-130 Sail Student Manual (Printed).  It take about 2 weeks to receive your book.  You will need the book for the course; if you are a family, only one book per family is needed.

During and after the course, there will be voluntary recreational outings in the Galveston Island, Kemah and the Lake Conroe area to learn more about sailboats, vessel construction and maintenance, sails and sail making; and sailing Galveston Bay or other waters.  Some of these activities will be field trips, some activities will be on-the-water.  The Instructor will have details about the field trips and on-the-water activities during the course.
