Vessel Safety Check

A Vessel Safety Check is a complimentary and confidential safety check of a vessel.  It is conducted by certified members of America’s Boating Club Houston, confirming it meets federal and state requirements for safety. No citations are issued and the results of the safety check are not reported to any enforcement agency. A decal is awarded to display if the vessel has passed the examination.  All vessels qualify for a vessel safety check:  Sail, Power, Canoes, Kayaks, Standup Paddleboards

To get there, take I-10 east from downtown Houston to Exit 807 just east of the Trinity River.  Continue east on the feeder road a very short distance to the entry road of the Trinity River Island Recreation Area.  Turn right (south) and go approximately two miles to the recreation area.  The public boat ramp is at the south end of the facility.
