America’s Boating Club Houston offers this  2-day wilderness first aid (with CPR and AED) course.

This 16-hour course provides information on how to prepare for and deliver emergency care in remote locations.  Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is the assessment of and treatment given to an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care of a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available.

In a WFA class, you will learn how to assess, treat, and, when possible, prevent medical and traumatic emergencies within the scope of your training.

This course is designed with a combination of classroom learning and hands on skills demonstration, practice, and testing.  There is an emphasis on injuries and illnesses in a maritime environment.
